Easter Cruise on the Carnival Sunshine

A perfect way to enjoy Spring Break is to take a cruise. We booked the April 16, 2022 sailing on the Carnival Sunshine out of Charleston, SC. Since this was a Spring Break cruise, there were more kids on board the ship during this time of the year. However, this did not impact the fun to be had during the sailing.
This five day sailing had two beautiful stops in the Bahamas: Nassau and Half Moon Cay. The weather was perfect for the cruise. In Nassau, I highly recommend hiring a private van tour once you get off the ship and walk over to Woodes Rodgers Walk. It is the first street that you encounter after stepping off the ship. If you negotiate with the driver, you can usually get a private van/taxi tour for $120 total. This is for the entire van and not per person. The driver will take you to see the beach, Paradise Island, Government House, and more. The driver will stop and give you an opportunity to take pictures. Also, make sure you tip your driver afterwards.

In Half Moon Cay, I recommend a beach day on the island. There are lounge chairs on the beach for you to enjoy and are included in the cruise price. Just make sure you get there early to get a chair and a great view. On the island, the crew bring food from the ship and grill hamburgers and chicken. There are also vegetables, salad, fruits and sweets available in the buffet setting.

Overall, this cruise was a great value when looking at Spring Break options. The total cost was $1363.48 for a room with two people. This works out to be $272.70 per day for food, entertainment, and great memories.
